- Misdiagnosis Risks:

- Incorrect Treatment Risks:

Compliance & Privacy:
- HIPAA Alignment: The system is not considered aligned with HIPAA. While encryption is used, critical aspects such as access controls, audit trails, data retention policies, and business associate agreements are lacking. A formal security risk assessment is needed to identify and address vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with HIPAA's Privacy and Security Rules.
- Data De-identification: While the removal of all 18 HIPAA identifiers is a positive step, it is not sufficient to guarantee de-identification. ECG waveforms themselves can potentially be used to re-identify patients, especially when combined with other available data. A formal determination of whether the data meets the HIPAA Expert Determination or Safe Harbor standards is needed. Scrutiny of the de-identification process is warranted.

Clinicians should ensure that patients are fully informed about the risks and benefits of using the AI model and that they have the opportunity to express their preferences and values. - Conduct a prospective, multi-center clinical trial with a diverse patient population to validate the model's performance in real-world settings.
- Implement methods to improve model transparency and explainability, such as providing feature importance scores or visualizations of relevant ECG features.
